04 January 2010: Former Sales Director at DELL is joining Comparex:
Mohammed Merkachi is joining Comparex in the position of Sales Director as of today, 4 January 2010.
Mohammed Merkachi has a proven track in sales and people management and brings with him an in-depth knowhow in selling ICT technologies across different IT layers and vertical markets.
Mohammed Merkachi, 39 years, has a university degree, speaks fluently Dutch, French and English and he has developed a successful sales career over 15 years e.g. at Business Objects, Dimension Data and DELL.
He will bring Comparex to a next level of success and will help us in growing our business in a successful and sustainable way.

16 October 2009: Comparex becomes part of the Austrian Raiffeisen Banking Group:
As from 16 October 2009 Comparex Belgium and Luxemburg become part of the leading Austrian IT provider, Raiffeisen Banking group, one of Austria’s major financial holdings.
As a result of the acquisition in 2008 of PC-WARE and the former COMPAREX eastern countries, the new group is present in 26 countries worldwide and employs over 1700 people and generated a turnover of 1.2 billion EUR.
As in the other countries, Comparex BeLux and PC-Ware BeLux will keep on operating separately under their respective names. Comparex is specialized in Data Center solutions while PC-WARE provides software solutions.
The acquisition offers important growth opportunities to Comparex BeLux . Belgian customers will benefit both from new software offerings and global service offerings in 26 countries incl. in China. This is unrivalled in Belgium . Comparex and the group will share their extensive knowhow, competences and long standing experience to further strengthen their market position in Belgium, in Europe and worldwide.
Our BeLux customers will benefit from our business critical mass with the major vendors :
The group has a turnover of 500 Mio with Microsoft,300 Mio with other software vendors ( VMware, Citrix, Adobe , Symantec…) 40 Mio with IBM , 30 Mio with EMC , 20 Mio with HP and 20 Mio with SUN.
Due to this acquisition, Comparex BeLux regain a strong financial backing. This guarantees long term economic security, stability and trust to our customers and partners. In times of economic downturn it is an important asset and competitive advantage.
